Visa Help Advice Please

Featured Replies

Dear Forum Members.

Can you advise me please?I'm currently on Ko Samui. I want to stay until around 10th April 2016 then head back to UK. I came to Thailand from Mexico on a whim with no plan to even be here at all so just had my UK passport on me. I've now been to Ko Samui Immigration twice & on each occasion paid 1900 baht. 1st time i got 30 day extension. 2nd time they've given me 7 day extension which ultimately means I have until 23rd March 2016 to leave Thailand. I had thought about just paying the overstay fine as money is not a problem. After asking this at the immigration office & phoning a couple of thai embassies in UK have decide against that. What is easiest way of getting my time here extended? Is it the case that if you leave Thailand for a couple of days then you re enter that the protocol is i get a new 30 day stamp in my passport or do I have to attend at. A Thai embassy & endeavour to get a Visa & what type of visa is it i should get? I do not work here. I am financially free so can pay whatever necessary. Just need exact advice if you could please.

Thank you & regards

Kambo

You can leave Thailand and return and obtain another 30 day visa exemption no problem.

Where you choose to go is your choice.

If you fly to Malaysia you will not have to worry about any visa on arrival there keeping the cost down.

You cannot further extend your stay !

What you do depends on how long you intend to stay.

Getting another "visa exempt" entry should not be a problem but you may be better advised to obtain a single entry tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Penang, Malaysia.

If you wish to get another 30 day "visa exempt entry" that can be achieved by flying out and returning on the same day.

Since you are have a UK passport you can get another 30 day visa exempt entry by land or by air. No need to stay overnight at most border crossings and never by air.

Elite visa. 500,000 baht for a 5 year multiple entry visa. Especially for the financially free. http://www.thailandelite.com/index.php

Thanks for advice guys. Went to Singapore & back to USM today ,flights were fine. At Samui on re entry got passport stamped another 30 days.At Singapore check in to come back the guy did ask to see my exit flight from Thailand which I booked a few days ago so I showed him on my phone the ticket. All good. (Not sure if he would have stopped me or not if i hadn't booked that. I asked him why do you need to see that, his response "incase we get blame for allowing you to fly into Thailand")

Anyhow

All good

Thank you

Immigrations do not care, the airline care becase they have to pay your return if refused entry.
