Twenty-three people will be deported from Vietnam for illegally selling lottery tickets, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.

The Ministry collaborated with the Social department of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City and is preparing to send the Cambodians back next week.

According to ministry spokesman Chum Sounry, the 23 accused include seven adults – one of whom is pregnant – and 16 children.

“All of them were living in Chantrea and Kampong Ror districts in Svay Rieng province. They will return next week via the Bavet International border gate,” Mr. Sounry said.
