Hi all,

Aside from passport copies, photos, and a completed application, are there additional requirements for a single entry tourist visa? What is the actual cost of the visa at the Embassy and is Thai Baht accepted?

Also, will the Embassy or Immigration need to see an onward ticket out of Thailand or proof of funds?

Thanks for the help!

So your flying to Vientiane ? You could take cheaper flight to udon thani and get minibus to boarder. Easy quick cheap drive. You then just get your visa to loas at boarder. No embassy trip.

Nothing more than what you wrote is needed.

The fee is 1000 baht and no other currency will be accepted.

No tickets out or proof of funds are needed..

Just to add, you will need a Laos visa on entry, and it is cheaper to pay that in US dollars (about $30-40 depending on nationality). The cost is higher if you only have baht.

Where do you get number 7 for 50 baht I had trouble locating it last time, I took a tuk tuk from Nong Khai to the HQ of the company doing UTH to border for 200 baht, it's just the reverse was 150 baht in a minivan.

Yea I know. Last time (a while ago to be fair) did tuk tuk to nong khai 60 baht then nong khai to airport for 150 baht vip van. So slightly different.

But thanks for the above pic.

Oh My pleasure lkv, There are some tricky tuktuk drivers in Nong Khai... By the way , I think

nong khai to airport for 150 baht vip van can pick up passengers at Thai border,Here is a pick up point.IMG_7181.jpg?resize=580%2C435

Yeah last time I had to go into Nong Khai to get it, I do remember they had quite comfortable seats.

If they made it available at the border, it's even better.

Why then would you not take that instead of going to UTH city and taking another taxi?

one of my friend said

airport for 150 baht vip van is only for Nok Air Passengers

other passengers such as Air Asia, Thai Airways must pay 200THB...

Is that correct?

When making the photocopies of your passport, you will need to make copies of your Laos visa and entry stamp as well. Also, when I was there in December, the application form I had downloaded from their embassy website was not accepted, and I had to fill out the one they handed me (perhaps they've updated their website by now).

If i remember correctly the shop across the street knows exactly what to copy if you just tell them Thai visa.

Also, I took pictures right there on the street in front of the Embassy, in case anybody forgets. Don't remember how much though.

If it's the same one then its 200 airport to border and 150 nong khai to airport. But maybe it's changed.

I'm talking about the same company that has the counter in the airport. Maybe there are several?

Very good plan for quick turn around. The one thing that amazes me will the zillion posts and threads about boarder runs or obtaining new visa, is the effort to do it in minimal time. Makes sense if your working which your not spouse to be. Perhaps they have a wife or gf they need to be with 24/7.

I would take few days a very least in udon thani. Would fly mid afternoon. Nice bars there for a relax etc. I guess different strokes for different folkes. Top mansion, nice joint is 640/night. Can't be urgency to save mobey? Surely not
