METV Cost Of Border Stamp In Cambodia

Featured Replies

I have a multi entry tourist Visa for six months it's time for my two month border run, I'm wondering what is the normal cost that Cambodia charges you to get your Visa restamped ?

"Stamps" are free !

A Cambodian visa on arrival (required) costs $30

Your next entry into Thailand will be authorised by Thai Immigration not the Cambodians !

You can also extend each 60 day entry obtained from your visa by 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 Bht.

If you turn straight around and exit Cambodia immediately, there will be a "U-turn fee" of 300 Baht on top of the $30 visa fee. I am not sure of the status of this "U-turn fee". It is charged by Cambodia immigration.

I think the Cambodian term for it is TEE Money lol gigglem.gif

Just saying.

Where are you staying now? Bangkok?

A return flight to Kuala Lumpur starts from about 2700 Baht with AirAsia.

Can be done in one day from Don Mueang.

And as far as I know there is no cost for visa on arrival, no big sticker in passport etc. (depending on your nationality).

Would be even cheaper from Phuket.

Note that, while Cambodian immigration will ask for extra money, whether you choose to pay is optional regardless of how long you intend to stay in Cambodia. They ask for it because they can. If you do decline to pay, do so confidently in a polite and friendly manner.

Mae Sot, Tak province. 500 Baht for day pass/immigration stamp to Myanmar but you will have to go back to Thailand before 6p.m. when the border closes.

Ban Phu Nam Ron crossing in Kanchanaburi. Closer to Bangkok than Mae Sot.

$30 at either Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport. But at the land borders, you will be lucky to get away with $35. And if you don't have US$, then expect to pay 1,500baht

Dont forget the photo -or that will cost 100baht extra!

I have invariably been lucky enough to get away with paying the official price for the visa (previously $20 now $30). You do need to pay in dollars, use the official Cambodian visa application counter, and have the photo to get this price. They will ask for more. Do not under any circumstances get aggressive. Just smile and quietly say "no, I only pay the official price". Occasionally, you may need to repeat this once after they tell you that you must wait a long time if not paying extra. (Reality: they want to process you and have you out of there as quickly as possible in case you start informing the suckers that they do not need to pay extra.)

Just get it online and avoid the lines.
