DSI to question Somdet Chuang tomorrow night



BANGKOK: -- The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) will send a 7-member investigation team to question Somdet Chuang, the abbot of Pak Nam Phasicharoen temple in Samut Prakarn tomorrow night at 8 pm, over his occupation of the controversial vintage Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

The questioning will focus on how he managed to obtain the car, and who sold it to him.

The abbot, who also was earlier nominated as the country’s 21st supreme patriarch by the Sangha Supreme Council, but has yet to be forwarded to the King by the prime minister for royal approval, will have to answer all questioning personally.

The prime minister made clear later that he would submit the name for royal approval only everything about the vehicle is cleared with no stains.

I am sure the venerable abbot has never occupied the vehicle in question, but may be asked how he obtained / acquired it.

The questioning will focus on how he managed to obtain the car, and who sold it to him.

This should be good. He may come up with a Pink Bentley story.

So the abbot that those in power wish hadn't been nominated now finds himself investigated for a car gifted to the temple being illegally imported. Coincidence?
