soalbundy
dengue fever is especially dangerous for children. It is an underestimated disease, many Europeans are scared of malaria but know nothing of dengue fever.
Catoni
Dengvaxia has been approved for more and more countries...... So bad that this little girl didn't get the shots... It is just so very sad.... I hope the doctors were able to keep her out of pain and ease her suffering.. Like many other diseases.... it seems to hit the young and the elderly hardest.... I'm getting the shots before I come back to south east Asia. I hight recommend them to everyone going in an area in the tropics where there is Dengue. No.... not 100% effective....no vaccine is 100% effective.... . but better than depending on luck... Study it. Even if you still get Dengue....at least the vaccine will cut down the severity of it. And that can be enough to save you a lot of suffering.. or worse... http://www.sanofipasteur.com/en/Documents/PDF/PR/First_vaccinations_with_DENGVAXIA_ENG_19Feb2016_12am.pdf http://www.who.int/immunization/research/development/dengue_q_and_a/en/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengue_vaccine

Hopefully at the travel clinic in my area. If they don't have the vaccine, I'll try to persuade them to look into getting it. if not.... then I might have to get the shots in one of the countries listed for it right now.. the closest to Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar for me would be the Philippines.. I guess if I am determined to get the shots, I could spend some time in the Phil, or visit there a few times from Cambodia or Thailand. The vaccine is administered in three doses given over a one-year period. As time goes on... more and more countries will be approving this vaccine... and other pharmaceutical companies also have Dengue vaccines in the works...... perhaps one of them will be mor effective than the others... who knows ? ? http://www.dengue.info THE FIRST VACCINATIONS AGAINST DENGUE MARK A HISTORIC MOMENT IN INFECTIOUS DISEASE PREVENTION. February 22, 2016 The first vaccine approved for the prevention of dengue, developed and produced by Sanofi Pasteur, is now being administered by healthcare providers in the Philippines following official receipt of the first shipment of the vaccine to the country in early February. Where is the vaccine approved for adult use ? Facts please ! Google is your friend. I'm a traveller... not a pharmaceutical expert to answer your questions about vaccines. Didn't I give you enough links ? ? Google is not very difficult to use. Or you could use another search engine perhaps. But to answer your question with a question. ... Why would an adult not be able to be given the vaccine ? ? Every vaccine I've ever wanted to be given for travel and living in tropical countries.... I've been given them. Hep A and B, Meningitis, Japanese Encephalitis.. . Even Yellow Fever and Rabies vaccinations Etc......Etc..... I've got a long list. I've yet to hear them at the government travel health clinic say "No, we won't give you that one". They only care that they get paid by my insurance company for my shots. laolover88
The sad thing is that Dengue Fever is treatable, never mind the vaccine. Khun Kue Aroon needs to establish why and where doctors did not treat her and what the parents did. Don't wish to suggest blame in this tragedy; but for others? Khun Kue Aroon needs to establish why and where doctors did not treat her and what the parents did. Don't wish to suggest blame in this tragedy; but for others? Treatment is limited. There are no antivirals against Dengue. And it hits kids especially hard. Once you get one form of Dengue and recover, you are immune to that type from then on. But every subsequent type you get..(there are at least four...) .... hits you harder. Better if you can get the vaccine for some protection..... and to at least lessen the effects to a milder form if you still get Dengue anyways.. Have treatment in place in case.... but work to prevent the fire before it starts.. .instead of waiting to fight it once it has caught and is burning.. Catoni
Scary, I get eaten alive by mossies everytime im there, only a matter of time Interactive map from the World Health Organization.. You can click various diseases on and off and see where they are present in the world. http://apps.who.int/ithmap/ Dengue is in Mexico, (south part of Texas has had reports)... Dengue is in Central America, most of South America, and the Caribbean Islands.... Africa, south Asia, south east Asia, Philippines and islands to the south of the Philippines... Sadly...
