Instant noodles made from Thai rice to be promoted for Chinese market

BANGKOK, 16 March 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce will promote the marketing of instant noodles made from Thai rice instead of wheat with health-conscious consumers as a major target.

As a matter of fact, four in 62 Chinese consumers were found to be allergic to Gluten in wheat while the sales of instant noodles in China are expected to rise to around 450 billion baht in 2020.

Commerce Minister Abhiradee Tantraporn disclosed that the Department of International Trade Promotion will convince the noodle manufacturers into using Thai white, non-glutinous rice flour instead of wheat as raw material for their noodles, especially for the Chinese market, which will help release the unsold rice in the government’s stock.

Actually, Health-conscious consumers should avoid eating polished rice, and rice products such as noodles.

Unless you get your rocks off consuming wallpaper glue, that is. Or if you like beriberi as your favorite illness.

Products based on wheat are the healthier choice here by far.

They want to sell the noodles to China. Don't worry about health conscious and all that stuff. China is a massive market and as long as it is edible they will eat it.
