Face-melting weather: Thailand hottest country in ASEAN this week

Featured Replies

At least the humidity is a lot lower than usual, and that makes a big difference (at least to me). Usually 80+ but forecast where I am as 40-50 percent. That's okay. We expect hot at this time or year.

It's getting hotter here in Pattaya, my body trying to adjust , but I have to admit I need the aircon also during the daytime now. It's soon April, get used to it.

Pattaya has a nice breeze and is a few degree's cooler then BKK.

And best of all: no mosquito's on the higher floors.

Was riding around in Chiang Mai at 39.6 Celsius a couple of weeks ago, age 72 and 73 this week. Humidity was no problem. The house upstairs in the bedrooms felt like a pressure cooker during the day. But the ground floor it felt OK and comfortable.

Just remember Sir Isaac Newtons laws of motion. "Every force has an equal and opposite force". When the rain comes it will come hard and fast. The extra heat causes extra water evaporation. So it looks like floods will be inevitable. The so called water management schemes will have to return to the drawing board. Many future threads on this site will laugh at and mock the situation as it arrives.

I haver returned to the UK but still wish I was in CM at 40+ Celsius.

If you have a pet and you walk it regularly do be mindful that they can burn their feet

"Face melting weather" ? A good time for people to lose face and blame the weather.

All the pasty whites will be huddling in the malls.

It probably means those who've had a few plastic surgery ops - nose job, chin job, lips job, few face lifts, eye lids etc etc.

Been telling some of my missus mates not to sit too near a candle for years! whistling.gif

I think he's a bit late with his dates; it's been 34 under shade and 39 outside the last two days at my place !

37 here now and just got back from a long walk.

some people will just complain about anything. also not using the a/c, dont need it.

one thing you need to watch out for with the hot weather is the thais who are used to bottling in negative emotions and who generally dont seem to be big sun worshippers.

they are much more likely to snap or become suddenly angry then usual. on a plus note you can enjoy many more places like public parks and such during the day without the crowds and noise.
