Hi,

So I will be staying in Mahachai for at least couple of months, and it seem a bit far from the city.

I heard that there are several mini-van going from Mahachai to different locations in Bangkok.

Anyone has information about the vans there?

Are there any van that has a direct route from Mahachai to -> BTS Station or MRT Station (I'd prefer MRT Station)

Also, direct route to Mahachai -> Silom/Sathorn?

If someone can provide more about the details of the van and their destinations it'd be great.

Thanks for any help.

Bus # 76 from Saem Dam to Taksin Bridge, Surasak Road and Silom Road. Bus # 173 from Phraram 2 Hospital to Taksin Bridge to Sathorn Road.

This next part is strictly a guess, from someone who is now a former resident of Bangkok: There is a Jet/Jiffy gas station and convenience store on the south side of Phraram 2 (Rama 2) Road about 1 km (?) west of its intersection with Taksin Road. Vans arrive/depart from there to points west. I do not know if there is a route from there to Mahachai. Better to do some detective work on the Mahachai end.

I'll check out Mahachai over the weekend and will ask around for transportation routes.

Just in case, they can't understand me.

How do I ask properly in "Thai", if there is a Van going directly from Mahachai to MRT?

Thanks

- just did a bit more map detective work. I think the gas station/convenience store to which I referred is located between Soi's 39 and 41. It may have been rebranded as a PTT, which now owns Jiffy/Jet.

Translations:

Is there a van going to the skytrain ? Mee rot tu pai ti rot fai fah ?

Where does the van leave from ? Rot tu awk jak ti nai ?

If I'm not mistaken, you can take a van from Mahachai market area to the Victory monument. From there, take the BTS to get to an MRT interchange. The vans would probably not take you directly to an MRT station because it goes on the toll road from Pra Ram 2 road and gets off right at the Victory monument.

Be PRECISE and tell Where in that chiangwat-there is f.e. also Mchai MUANG MAI-about halfway between the BKK ringrd and Mahachai-muang itself.

Samae Dam is a BMTA garage just 2-3 kms in a sideroad off the RamII rd and does not serve Mahachai town at all.

Bus 105 ends at MC MAI and loops via WWnYai BTS.

Bus AC (ONLY!!) 68 starts at Wat Bovorn just beside Khao Sarn and runs via Charoen Sanitwong/Mall TaPra(Passes BTS) and then via Ram ii all the way-even in slack nonbusy hrs the total trip takes at least 90/100 mins. The red 68 ends also Samae Dam garage.

VANs leave from several points in BKK-town, notably west side of river, like beside PATA, also serving the SaiThai terminal, from Ram II rd (likely the Central shop-centre) and-hence first remark: run via various different routes. Likely there is also a less frequent one from Vic.Mon. Also: think-there are also vans running further on and these may be of help by getting off earlier as final end.

Remarkably none has yet stand up and told excitedly about the joys of Thai train travel-the famous market-show/ve-away train from the WgWnYai runs about hourly in 58 mins weekdays, is just 10 bt-but is cancelled due to extensive renovation for a few more weeks-untill?? You CAN with short walk connect from this train to BTS.

Of course the best is just go to busstand in MC (again assuming its the town you want) and look lost or just ask. Why newbies currently even seem unable to think about the most basic of information escapes me. BUT some van-routes may not run daily or only at certain hours-its for a large part a commuter route.
