I disagree. Ive used them many times and would recommend them. They are friendly and laid back. The boss there is a member of Tv.com . One of the moderators might know his user id.

Its a good option for applying for any visa.

The suggestion that anyone would have to show platinum credit cards and business class tickets is frankly absurd and unbelievable.

Also, If you don't know what a proof of purchase is then I feel sorry for you.

I don't think he was suggesting that anyone would have to show these things.

Edit: typed should instead of would

I respect your point of view but I have just written my personal experience.

I did not say they are u friendly. I did say opposite so I don't really know what is your point.

For me, and any other who wants to apply for visa there the boss can be even a member of Australian Fishing Club. A way more important is to find reliable information on the consulate web/TT/FB and be able to contact them.

Read carefully please before posting a reply. As other member previously said, I did not mention that everyone needs to show platinum credit card.

I did not either mentioned prof of purchase. If I have a ticket, I did purchase it so it is a proof itself. Consulate expect proof of payment but it is different thing.

If you book ticket online just a few days before applying for visa and paid by credit card. Until you receive credit card settlement in weeks, you have no proof of payment.

I have seen that many embassies require CONFIRMED TICKET but it is a different story.

I think they would accept a printed out e ticket that said it was a itinerary/ receipt. It will show the amount paid and etc.

One that only says itinerary and did not show payment info would not be accepted.

To the OP, many thanks for your report. I think the tendency of some members here to shoot the messenger every time they read an unwelcome report is this forum's least attractive feature.

You have a point but the OP has laboured some points. The airline ticket and proof of payment is simply a print out of itinerary that also has record of payment. Take hard copy. Cell screen won't cut it. Also did I miss the op reference to providing onward flight. This is required for Bali. The demonstration of funds is not uncommon. Easy satisfied.

Yes, that is what I counted for also but I did manage to print credit card payment summary for that ticket.

We got a tourist visa in Bali, and would strongly disagree with your recommendation to go elsewhere.

We had no waiting, and they accepted printouts of our booking confirmation emails from Air Asia as proof or travel. Wrote up some details here:

http://middleagednomads.blogspot.com/2015/11/getting-thai-visa-in-bali.html

That's cool, I did not have any problem of getting visa either.

My report is not about problem to get visa itself, but lack of basic information for people, who has never been to Bali and wants to collect documents before travel to get a visa.

OP did I miss you mention onward ticket. My understand is you need flight into Thailand and also outbound?

In my case for SETV onward one way flight from Thailand was enough. I did not attach any flight booking into Thailand.

As far as I know they accept only airplane tickets. Bus or train ticket to for example Cambodia or Malaysia is not enough. If you plan to drive car out of Thailand, you need to book any plane ticket to get a visa anyway :(

I don't doubt your experience, however this is what normally is required from Bali.

Flight INTO Thailand and also ONWARD flight.

In fact the consulates that in the past did not worry about onward flight always insisted on flight INTO Thailand. HCMC just one example.

Are you 100% sure you did not have to provide flight into Thailand/

Just onward. As there is no any official source of information from the consulate I have read a little bit outdated topic where representative from consulate posted this answer:

OK , I out of here but I have not heard of a setv being granted in Bali without flight INTO Thailand. I asked question and had convoluted answer. Meaning why talk about "no official source from consulate.....

You were there in person and obtained setv?

Although written five months ago now, I think this is still a definitive guide to getting an SETV from Bali:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/858799-changes-to-tourist-visa-requirements-at-consulate-in-bali/page-2#entry9914863

That was a source of all information for me before I travel to Bali. It is ok, but IT SHOULD BE ON OFFICIAL WEBSITE/FB of the consulate. With some less important information like they will be closed for 3 days instead of 1 public holiday, etc.

I'll repeat once again: my warning and recommendation to chose another place for getting a visa was not because it is difficult in Bali or someone is not nice.

Imagine, with rules that changes very often from today they may be required tourist travel insurance. The only official announcement will be on the consulate's wall. How can you know about that if you can not contact anyone there to ask about documents required for now, not a few months ago what someone posted on the forum.

Yes, I was there in person a week ago. Maybe regulations has changed, maybe before this kind of documents were required. But not a week ago when I was there.

I'm done! You were just there a week ago. You cannot recall what you provided regarding flight tickets. I can recall what was required when I applied in Vietnam and Bali some years ago. Fact is people read your thread and perhaps make plans around that. I suggest they do not

I agree with you that a flight into Thailand is required when applying at HCMC and some other consulates. For Bali, the one responsible for approving applications did not list it as a requirement in his post in the link I provided earlier today. I believe it is not a requirement for Bali.
