  • A Thai can travel to and enter Thailand with an expired passport. From IATA database that can be found here by entering the required info: https://www.klm.com/travel/kz_en/prepare_for_travel/travel_p

When exiting a Country - almost any Country - the Immigration / Exit Authority / Officer is not at all concerned about where you are going or whether you have the right to enter the destination Countr

She will be allowed to check in and then negotiate the UK Immigration process with an expired passport? Are you lot sure about that? If that's correct what is the point of giving a passport an expiry date in the first place?

The bit you're missing is the fact that this is someone returning to their own country. It's the same for the UK. A British citizen can also return to the UK on an expired passport. They just couldn't go anywhere else.

I suspect there would be problems if it was not a direct flight. I think most countries would be reluctant to allow people even to transit without a valid travel document.

If the "transit" did not involve passing immigration and therefore "entering" another country I suspect there would not be a problem.

I am open to correction on this point.
