BANGKOK, 21 March 2016 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn has told the tourism, sports, and culture reform committee to formulate development plans to be handed on to the next administration.

After a meeting with the reform committee established by the current government, Gen Tanasak said he had instructed all sub-committees to draw up one-and-a-half-year plans for the reform of tourism, sports, and culture. These plans will be incorporated into the country’s 20-year national strategic plan which will be passed on to the next elected government.

The tourism reform plan seeks to lay down a firm foundation for the industry through the development of human resources and the enhancement of hospitality standards.

The sports reform plans focuses on fostering a healthy society, encouraging people of all ages to exercise, and supporting national sports teams.

In terms of cultural reform, the plan provides measures and mechanisms to conserve Thai culture and traditions, as well as promote good social values.

What a cosy job for Tanasak. Just delegate. No guidance, no forward thinking, no suggestions to influence reforms. More time on the golf course.

formulate development plans to be handed on to the next administration

Why?

With the five-year reform committee, unelected PM and pro-military Senate in place, the next admininstration will be virtually unchanged from the current one. That would seem to follow as Gen. Tanasak didn't say handed on the the next elected administration.
