I renewed my Retirement Extension last week but ran out of time to get my usual Multi-Entry permit.

I need to fly to the USA tonight. I know I can get a single entry at Suvarnabhumi but friend tells me that I can get a Multi there as well.

Can anybody confirm this?

You can get the multiple re-entry permit at the airport. The total cost will be 4000 baht that includes a 200 baht service charge.

Be sure you have a photo with you in case they cannot do it.

I got a multi a couple of weeks back no problem (need a photo).

IIRC the service charge has been dropped, fee 3,800.

Does that mean they longer can do the photo at all. For awhile we were getting reports they were having problems doing them at BKK.

I successfully got a "Multi-Entry" permit at Suvarnabhumi a few nights ago: B3800 People without pictures are told they have to exit the security/passport control area and go to the 2nd floor Tourist Police office to have them taken, then return via security. Kind of a P.I.A. but you won't get a EP without one.

Next year I'll know to do my Multi at the airport again where it took only 15 minutes rather than Chang Wattana where it usually takes one to two hours.

I believe the so called 200 baht "service charge" that ubonjoe described on top of the cost of the reentry permit is (or was) an "informal charge" that people with no picture and without a completed application form paid. I applied for a single reentry in DMK in December and I noticed that 2 Chinese girls in front of me that had their picture taken with the computer camera and the application form printed gave 1,200 baht, whereas I payed 1,000 with the form downloaded from the internet completed at home and the pic already sticked on the form.

I do remember paying 1,200 before in Suvarnabhumi when they've done it for me, but I believe if you do it by yourself then it's 1,000. Or 3,800 respectively.

The reentry permit at airport has been discussed many times. It is very easy to download form have it all filled in with photo attached. Avoids any stuff ups. In office for maybe 15 minutes. Of course allow more time to not worry about your flight. Easy process
