Most of the Islanders of the Pacific welcomed the early missionaries because they managed to put a stop to the endless fear murder slavery and inter tribal warfare and ushered in enough peace with great relief to convert many Islanders to Christianity and then they in turn took over to be an even bigger missionary force throughout the Pacific. Many missionaries lost their lives in their efforts to effect that peace.
