Dose anyone know what days the consulate is closed in April in Vientiane?

The website is down I need to arrange my next visa run and I want to check because of songkran

No but the New Year Public Holiday is 13th, 14th and 15th. They will definitely be shut on those days.

I was planning to drop it on on the 11th and then pick it up on the 12th

I have a bus and hotel booked already, good news is I got the days wrong by one day and I am going a day early, wow that was lucky assuming it's open on the 11th and 12th

Thai immigration is open on the 11th and 12th and I assume the Embassies will be to. There are no Laos public holidays that week other than the new year (13th to 15th). So you should be ok.

Wow that was lucky let's hope I have no trouble getting my visa, also I don't have a way back yet as the would only sell me a one way ticket there

Every year in January, there is a forum member who posts a calendar of public Thai holidays in the General forum topic just as a service to forum members to answer such questions.

This year the Songkran holidays are:

6 April (Wednesday) Chakri Day

13 April (Wednesday) Songkran

14 April (Thursday) Songkran

15 April (Friday) Songkran

The red indicates a Thai government official public holiday.

You can be sure the THAI EMBASSY in Vientianne will be closed on those last 3 days as they are official holiday dates for Thailand..

Including the Thai Embassy.

No I am going to Vang Vieng for 4 nights so Coming back on the 16th, do you Think that is worst?

I have a bus booked from pattaya to Nong khai they would only sell me a one way ticket, so when I get of the bus I need to book a ticket back for the 16th

I am worried a bit about the rest of the travel Arrangements

The 12th will be a hard day for travel (even thou you have a ticket, there will be a lot of traffic as people are going home for songkran) and good luck getting a ticket for the 16th or the 17th as many people are going back as they start working again the 18th.

For travel on the 16th, have you considered trying to book a sleeper on the train from Nong Khai to Bangkok? It being Songran, you may already be too late, but this is likely to be more comfortable than going by road that weekend.
