Smiley Face
Since they are starting from 0 and will increase their efforts, zero times anything is still zero. So we already can calculate the outcome.
bgrassboy
"Motorcycle taxis are strictly prohibited from forming gangs." Could have fooled me.
NongKhaiKid
Yet another ' regulation, purge, crackdown, rigorous enforcement ' etc etc and the outcome will be as usual, NOTHING !
Pib
He urged motorcycle taxis to strictly abide by the laws and urgently register their vehicles as public hire vehicles. ...but he "forcibly" urged because they are really serious this time...really, they are serious this time (giggle, giggle). Zolt
This is doubly hilarious. You've gut Uber & GrabBike operating openly in breach of regulations with no problem, despite their drivers not being registered, and when the police announces a crackdown, it's on the registered drivers! NCC1701A
any mention of helmets for passengers? i guess not. not wearing a helmet is a good way to cull the herd in a random way. i am sure some in Bangkok like that idea. anyone see the video of the Thai kid crying over the body of his dead girlfriend who he managed to kill because she was not wearing a helmet on his motorcycle? should be shown in every classroom in Thailand. sorry off the subject a bit. back to Bangkok transportation professionals. phoenixdoglover
When I first travelled to Bangkok, I took one look at the motorcycle taxis, and decided it was better for my life expectancy to walk. I have not regretted that decision.
Redline
Ummmm, let's get the buses and heavy trucks that kill everyone in control! They are not maintained, they are overloaded, drivers don't sleep or are on drugs, the believe they are race cars, and can flash their lights and honk their horns and others should look out, pass on corners..... Very little penalty for killing groups of people, often children... Come on take control. Show authority! It's embarrassing
Thian
And of course they're still allowed to drive against traffic and on sidewalks.
Jonmarleesco
The RTP forcing m/c taxi drivers to comply with the law. This topic has worn out its welcome ... and its relevance.

Have you seen the state of the helmets most m/cyclists, and probably all m/cycle taxis utilise? Not worth the cardboard they are made with.
