Are These Prices Ok Or Too High?

Featured Replies

Do you think, is this good price:

Tuxido jacket only the jacket (Casmere&wool) about 3000bht? :o

How about price for balzer jacket; 3400bht?

And jeans/trousers 1400bht?

Are these prices ok? or too high?

What do you think?

Leather jacket 7000bht?

Silk shirt 1000bht?

Cotton shirt 800bht?

Please, tell me what you think about these prices? :D

I think you need to realize that the indian tailor shops with signs in english, german, finnish and swedish are set up purely as tourist rip-offs. Go to Central or Emporium if you want to buy clothes.

But I think this tailor is from Thailand... I am not 100% sure :o

So these prices are too high?

i guess it depends on how well they are made...

Either way, the touristy tailor shops (i.e. all tailor shops in BKK, pattaya, hua hin, phuket, samui, chiang mai etc etc) that has a sign that says "tailor" (or similar in any western language) are set up for tourists only, for the purpose of parting said tourists with as much of their money as possible. "Tailor shops", "jewelry factories" etc are just un-armed robberies for tourists.

You will be better off if you go to a department store where you can buy brand name versions of the same things cheaper. They will not fall apart after the first wash. The department stores will also make certain adjustments for you for free.

hi

some of them seem too high, while others are slightly more than they should be

I have mostly had shirts made for friends (not as often in terms of jackets and blazers and such, so cant comment)

but using the shirt as standard...you should be able to get cotton shirts for between 500 to 600 bht (if you buy more then 500, if only one then maybe 600)

so considering that you are getting all of those items, the price should be much lower. I have seen they offer deals where u get jacket, 2 trousers and some shirts...they seem to work out cheaper

plus it also depend on the fabric for the suit whether its wool? and imported from where

another place u can check is inside MBK on second floor they have some tailor made jackets...price might be slightly lower

good luck

i<for the most part> have my dress shirts custom made here ... (off the rack for 6'2" guys just doesn't work.

There are many shops that offer great work at great prices (compared to 'the West")

There are also places I just wouldn't go ....

Look in the BKK forum for the "Tailor threads"

imho the best shops will be around places where people actually wear suits ... and less so at the beach resorts

The dinner jacket and blazer sound ridiculously cheap to me - I would doubt the quality of the material being used, and the workmanship...

If you are willing to pay the price -no

If you are not willing to pay the price -yes
