In - Out - In - Out Re-entry Permit

Featured Replies

Hi,

My wife and I have Non O Retirement Visas ( 12 months - Feb 16 to Feb 17) + 1 Re-Entry Stamp in our Passports - this usually suffices for our planning - with one visit back to Europe each year.

On the spur of the moment we decided to visit Angkor Wat etc - so have realised we will be using up our current Re-Entry.

Can I simply go get another Re-Entry Stamp? Do I have to go get the additional Re-Entry before we travel?

Also I have previously heard that any departure actually cancels a Retirement Visa - so do we have to go and get all that done again before leaving for Europe later this year. ?

All a bit complicated for a simple 3 day trip to Cambodia.

Hope to hear soonest - as we travel next week.

Best Rgds.

You can get as many re-entry permits as you want or if you plan traveling a lot you can get a multiple re-entry permit that will be valid for the length of your extension.

Your re-entry permit keeps your extension valid when your re-enter the country. Without a re-entry permit your extension would end.

You will only need to get another re-entry permit before you leave for your next trip.

Assuming you have a 1 year extension of stay based on retirement and not a visa.

  • The extension of stay would end whenever you leave the country unless you have a re-entry permit.
  • You can buy a re-entry permit (1,000 baht) before leaving that will keep your extension of stay, and on return the IO will stamp you back in until Feb 17th.
  • Multi entry re-entry permits are also available for 3,800 baht.

Thnxs so much - got that - so will use my existing Re-Entry to get back from Cambodia - then just go get another Re-Entry against existing Retirment Visa Non O..

Thank goodness. - having decided at short notice - what looked like a quick trip seemed to be turning into a mess.

Yeah, you don't have a retirement visa non-o. Your non-o visa has been used and is dead. You have a one-year extension of stay for the purpose of retirement. Don't get visas and extensions of stay mixed up. It leads to misunderstanding and mistakes.
