Well known chilli paste owner alleges daughter stole her company

"...her business was taken over by her eldest daughter and son-in-law and, lately, she was kicked out of her own house."

TIT...10,000 baht paid in merit during Songkran should be enough to ease the daughter's and her husband's consciences. If this is the way some woman treats her own family of origin, why is it any wonder that farang boyfriends are thrown under the bus on a daily basis?

Not saying all Thai women are like this. In fact, not even close to a majority. However, there are enough to not check them out before you allow them access to everything.

I have lost money before to people I trusted in Thailand.

They were Farangs.

I would not loan money to a Thai, but I would definitely never ever loan money to a farang.

I wont be able to eat my fave squid dish without some schadenfreude now. Recipe for disaster being rich in Thailand.

Photo of the happy family and son-in-law:

The son-in-law looks like a greasy weasel and the daughter has that look about her too. I know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but some people exude character. Sad for the mother to have to deal with such a despicable offspring.

Might be onto something - Greasy forest weasel sautéed with nam prik pow. Thinly sliced spring onions, and a sprig of mint. My aunt in law was a Chanel. Went batty. Money aint everything.

Took the case to court but didn't win? Now she wants Government to intervene in a private company and family matter? Had your day in court. Should have hired better lawyers perhaps.

nice daughter ..... thainess ! blink.png

I didn't realize the kids of Australia's richest woman, Gina Reinhart, were Thai.

The Rinehart family has just spent the last four years fighting each other for the billions at stake. Millions were not enough for them obviously. They even made a television series about it.

Yeah, thainess, sure. A farang would never do such a thing!

The difference is that Australians don't go around claiming to be the best family units around. I am of the belief that acting in a certain way is better than claiming to be a certain way. If you've never heard a Thai person say something along the lines of, ''In Thailand we take care of our mother/father/family'' etc then you're lucky. As Chris Rock would say, ''You're supposed to you *************** ''

I don't know of any Aussies who send money to their parents every month. Quite common in Thailand, especially amongst daughters.

The Thais don't seem as keen on shoving Mum into a retirement/nursing home either, visiting maybe once a month for a couple of hours. Most often in Thailand they are cared for by family, in Oz most often they are shoved in a "old peoples home"

Or not?

Surely this is a matter for the police not the government

It's already been to court.

She lost.

Now she's trying another route.

Used to getting her own way I'd guess.

The statistics would suggest not

That is a very detailed report. But I couldn't find the actual percent of people in OZ who end up in a old peoples home.

Are you saying that Aussies are more likely to have their old relatives living with them than in Thailand? I don't know the figures/percentages, but I would be very surprised if that was the case. I would be amazed actually.

Chapter 2.

As for having elderly relatives living in a family home or needing money to be sent home to them by their working children, I would postulate a theory but I know it would only upset you, so I won't.

There is also the fact that standard and cost of old age homes in Oz is not comparable to those in Thailand. Doing something out of necessity does not make it morally right or wrong ;)

looks like the scamming daughter and husband have expanded the company and increased sales during their take over of the company.

http://www.thaichicagousa.com/2013/05/thaifex-with-mae-pranom.html

Sad what people do. With all the cash they have, too bad they could not buy Mom a condo in Bangkok and a Mercedes with a little cash each month for her to spend.

and they cut the rest of the family out too, not just Mom. The grand daughter should be nervous when Mom dies and she has to work in Soi Cowboy. :)

My first thought on seeing this story, was that

clearly the process of stealing large amounts of

money using forged documents and crooked lawyers

is not strictly limited to hapless farangs that married

bad Thai women !!!

Have a read about the Koch brothers. Two of them in particular.

They make this family look like the Waltons.

Yep.... My sister used to date Bill Koch, and he

certainly was reamed when Koch Industries was

valued, and Bill bought out. Turns out the value

established by his two brothers who still owned

the company was low.....by a few billion dollars.

Too easy to get shafted in Thailand with documents with forged signatures. Seen this a couple of times. Generally the court believes the document to be genuine, and saying it's not undermines the legality of these documents, which would undermine the system. These documents are easily faked, a common scam is to get someone to sign a blank piece of paper and then write the terms of a contract round it! Or even get them to sign anything and then copy the signature.

The old saying comes to mind: there is a good chance you may loose it all in Thailand so don't pay more than you can afford to loose...

This will take a huge chunk out of the brand, and sales will suffer. The public will always side with the mother. Looks like the daughter and husband have shot themselves in the foot.

I fear that much thought is beyond the ability of the Thai.

There's chili paste to be bought and nose picking to be done, not to mention flip-flop dragging. Lakorn starts soon. The day's checklist has just been completed, boycotting has not been included.
