SETV advice - Where to apply ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I need some advice. I will need to apply for a new SETV as I will stay around 2-3 months and I would like to apply from Penang.

Do you think I will be able to get a 3rd visa from penang? It won't be a 3rd back to back visa right ?

Here's my visa/stamp history on my passport:

fev to may 2014 : 4 in/out exemption stamps

oct 2014 exemption stamp - extended
dec 2014 SETV from PENANG - extended : stayed a bit less then 3 month.
sept 2015 - entered on exemption stamp
dec 2015 SETV from PENANG- just stayed a bit more than a month had to leave earlier.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Penang reportedly have an unpublished limit of 3. So if this is the third you should be ok. Especially if you use one of the agents.

I think you can take 3rd SETV in Penang without problem

Ok. Thanks for your answers :)

Anyone know the price of a SETV in Penang? A hotel just quoted me 180 RM, seems a bit steep. What's the actual price without using an agent?

Not that steep, visa cost is 150 RM the rest of 30 RM is what they charge. It's within market price for other agents as well.

If that is inclusive of agent fee, it is a good price. An SETV costs 150 RM if you do it yourself.

Yes, includes agency fee, so that's 30 ringgit on top..... 300 baht..... Hmmm, Lemonjelly thinks to himself ...."shall I do a cheap Charlie; bus and walk in the blistering tropical heat to consulate, or pay a visa wallah to do it whilst I sit under a fan drinking gallons of tea....."

Bear in mind that you would need to do that trip twice, and the saving is less than 30 RM, as four bus trips would need to be paid for if doing it yourself.
