Back to back tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys.
I'll need soon a new visa, I was wondering if there's any chance I'd be denied one if I go to Vientiane for a new tourist visa.

I got one in Bali last August, and I'm currently on my second one made in Paris in January.

In the middle I had twice a 30 days on arrival stamp.
All those ones were extended at Chaeng Wattana of course.

It will be the 3rd tourist Visa, but the first one without going out of Thailand for a few weeks, it makes me a bit anxious.

While I ask for help, I think I read in one topic that the immigration office in Bangkok won't deliver a certificate of residency for a tourist Visa, am I getting it wrong?

Thank you in advance

Stephane

ubon joe is the guy to ask.

With your visa history you will not have a problem getting a visa in Vientiane.

I cannot assist the certificate of residency question.

You cannot get a certificate of residency at CW unless you are doing 90 day reports to them. You may be able to get the equivalent from your embassy.

What do you want the certificate for?

Damn bkk!!!

I'd need it to open a bank account.

And the French ambassy doesn't want to deliver it anymore.

As you're the guy I needed to ask ubonjoe, can you confirm that I shouldn't have trouble getting my visa in Vientiane?

Not all banks will require the residence certificate. Requirements for Bangkok Bank are here. http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/4

No problem to get a visa from Vientiane since it will be your first one from them. They only count visas they have done and don't stop doing them until 3 or so.

Oh yes I saw the Bangkok Bank requirements, that's why I went to them to open one, but they refuse asking for this residence certificate, something about government directive change.

Try a different branch or another bank. You will get different results at different branches of the same bank.
