'Legends of the Fall' author Jim Harrison dead at 78

NEW YORK (AP) — Jim Harrison, the fiction writer, poet, outdoorsman and reveler who wrote with gruff affection for the country's landscape and rural life and enjoyed mainstream success in middle age with his historical saga "Legends of the Fall," has died at age 78.

Renovation plan for old Din Daeng flats to begin in August

BANGKOK, 28 March 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security organized an event to promote better understanding between tenants at the Din Daeng flats and public officials in charge of its renovation.


Social Development and Human Security Minister Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew presided over the opening ceremony of the event, which took place at the Thai-Japan Bangkok Youth Center.

The event allowed tenants to enjoy a variety of affordable goods on sale, job training, free health checks and recreational activities.

The minister said the National Housing Authority (NHA), which is operated by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, developed the renovation plan for dilapidated Din Daeng flats.

A team was appointed to collect feedback and information from the tenants. It was found that 87% of respondents supported the renovation project.

Following the construction plan of the new Din Daeng flats, 76% agreed that the new apartments should have rooms with a minimum area of 33 square meters. The NHA is expected to begin construction in August.

Training course may be needed for those repeatedly breaching agreement
