Man Arrested for Axe Attack

Police have arrested and charged a construction worker for hacking his boss to death with an axe on Saturday in Takeo province’s Kiri Vong district, according to officials. District Deputy Police Chief Sok Vutha said 36-year-old Norn Vanny was charged with murdering his supervisor, 27-year-old Um Ra, in a village chief’s house where they both worked.

“The suspect used an axe and chopped the victim’s torso eight times and his neck four times. He died immediately,” Mr. Vutha said. During police questioning, Mr. Vanny said he was angry at his boss for pilfering portions of his salary as well as encouraging him to sleep with a woman who worked at a karaoke bar and who he thought gave him AIDs.
