First border run ever - checklist

Featured Replies

First time Thailand, after my 90 days of SETV are over I want to get 30 days more by Visa exemption and plan to do a border run to PhnomPenh by plane. Will it be fine if I book a ticket with outward/return flight to BKK at the same day and just take my passport + onward flight in the following 30 days out of Thailand with me? Did I miss anything or is there other useful information about that like taking care I get an exit stamp at Don Muang? Never been to Cambodia before, could also fly to Saigon but its slightly more expensive.

why not go to your immigration office here in Thailand first, and apply for a 30 day extension, and THEN you go abroad and get another 30 days VISA excemption...

Just a suggestion

For around 2400b you could go with a visa run company to Ban Laem. Quick and painless. Pickup is 5am at ONNut BTS Tesco. Back in Bangkok around 4pm

It would appear he has already done that as he states 90 day SETV. But we know you only get 60 days on the visa and a 30 day extension.

I don't really understand your post/questions.

  • You should have no problem re-entering with visa exempt entry as long as you're from a qualifying country.
  • When you fly back from Phnom Penh the airline may want to see an onward flight dated within 30 days of arriving back in Thailand.

By this way can I also get a visa exemption when reentering Thai instead of a real visa if I want to stay only for 30 more days? (home country is qualified for 30 days exemption by land) Can you recommend me a company?

The 2400 baht includes transportation, Cambodian visa and 1 complimentary bottle of water. One stop on the way there and 1 stop on the way back. Visa exempt entries are free when entering Thailand so yes you can get a visa exempt entry which allows for 30 day and can also be extended an additional 30 days at immigration.

One more question about going by car to Cambo border. Will the ride be somewhat crazy and I might feel very sick doing it the first time?

Not all passport holders get 30 days exemption stamp from land entries
