webfact
Food receipts during April 9-17 can be used as tax deductibleBANGKOK: -- Keep your food receipts the next time when you dine at a restaurant during April 9-17 because they can be used as tax deductible for up to 15,000 baht.Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanawarangkoon said Tuesday that the tax deductible of up to 15,000 baht for food receipts would encourage more restaurants to enter the tax system. Moreover, expenses used to hold seminars or training courses can be used as tax deductible for up to twice the actual amount of the expenses paid. The tourism minister estimated that there would be about 2.6 million tourists during the Songkran festival. Of these, 2.1 million are Thais and the rest foreigners. Tourism during the festival is expected to generate 15 billion baht in revenue. But due to serious drought problem this year, Songkran festival has been shortened to just two days and revelers have been advised to use water conservatively. In Chiang Mai, the festival will be celebrated a bit longer than the rest of the country because this year marks the 720th anniversary of the founding of the city.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/content/157371 -- Thai PBS 2016-03-

I only know this because they mention the coolest pieces of artwork were commissioned for the 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. birthday cycles of the King and Queen at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. Srikcir
the tax deductible of up to 15,000 baht for food receipts would encourage more restaurants to enter the tax system. How would food receipts received by restaurant customers encourage restaurants to enter the tax system? To the restaurants customer receipts are taxable revenues. But food receipts might encourage customers to file tax returns to get the deduction so long as the tax return as a whole doesn't result in more taxable income. NickJ
It could create havoc as well. I used receipts for taxes here. For food and gas....The problem is you need a special receipt with your name and or company name on it. This always takes about 10 or 15 min to get.
