CHONBURI:-- Officers raided two "traditional" Thai massage shops in Si Racha and found out they were offering sex for sale, reports Thaivisa News.

The swoop on the two establishments early Thursday morning followed complaints from Borwin area residents that the shops were operating illegally.

A team from Borwin police raided the two shops, Sai and Nara in the Muang Thong Land district of Si Racha. Both shops advertised "massage for health."

Officers found that the businesses were little more than knocking shops and customers questioned even confirmed they were there for sex. Both Sai and Nara were found to be operating without licences and opening after hours as well.

Wattana Sathathong, 29, who was looking after the Sai shop was taken in along with the owner of Nara, Nathanan Khiawthong, 39 along with six "hostesses."

Charges of operating without a licence and offering sex for sale were proffered.

I'm shocked.

This is not looking good for the reputation of Thailand. whistling.gif

At least they weren't playing bridge.

I guess that the ladies forgot to make their monthly donation to the police charity...

Who would've thunk rolleyes.gif

Great undercover work by the police ...

It isn't traditional?

I hope the General gets involved. This need to be nipped in the bud. If this were to spread the whole country could change.

How dare they? This should only be allowed in Pattaya and Bangkok.

Yeah, aparasher. Pattaya's nowhere near Chonburi!

Pattaya is in Chonburi.

Are you a long term expat???? Pattaya is in Chonburi....maybe you should look out of your window from time to time?

People from other countries might hear about this and Thailand might loss its image as portrayed on tv recently by one of its Thai citizens in Pattaya robbing tourists etc.

There are no prostitutes in Thailand nor any robbers, scammers, murderers, perverts, gangs, drugs or any wrong doing. It's all in the mind and stories just fabricated on tv to keep the forums alive.

As long as Sri Racha sauce is not involved as a lubricant..........

OMG. Say it's not so!!! coffee1.gif

i always believed a massage was to relieve the stiff parts of the body

Sex provides money for food, water, clothing, medicine, family and shelter. Same same world wide since the beginning of time. No new news. Nobody cares that is struggling to survive.

Surprise, surprise, surprise..........not. tongue.png

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif And this is news?

Ok, so if the establishments were operating 'legally', then offering sex is ok? whistling.gifblink.png

If they shut down these essential establishments, I foretell many, very unhappy endings.

You are kidding me, right? Sex at a massage parlor?

My experience has been if you insist on a real massage...the girl seems bewildered and not sure what to do...wai2.gif

I dont believe it. utterly disgraceful and a nail in the coffin for Thailand's reputation as the purest country in Asean.

The hub of massage anyone?

I don't believe it….clearly a smear campaign.

I am sure whatever country you are from also has prostitutes, robbers, scammers, murderers, perverts, gangs, drugs and other wrongdoings. Mine does.

There have been a couple of instances of out of town Thais robbing people in Pattaya over the years, but lately it has been the Nigerians, Canadians, the Chinese and the Scottish. Have they caught the shirtless beach road farang with the smelly finger yet?

I guess my sarcasm was too little for some. I live in Pattaya and can also find it on a map. (Yes, Pattaya is in Chonburi - at least according to my mailing address.)
