Phuket Governor unveils Phuket Brand for local businesses and products

PHUKET: -- Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada has announced that a total of 32 local products will in future officially bear a Phuket Brand logo symbolising them as being a top quality product of the province.

Gov Chamroen held a meeting yesterday (Mar 30) at Provincial Hall with officials and announced that Phuket has received a permit which will allow the island to launch a Phuket Brand as a symbol identifying the province's quality products and services to help promote development of local products and tourism.

Gov Chamroen authorised the use of the Phuket Brand logo to 17 selected operators and to 32 products and services across the island.

Products and services qualified to bear the Phuket Brand have been selected by a management committee and broken down into five categories namely; health services, restaurants, public car services, community products, and agricultural produce.

Finally the Tuk Tuk's will in future officially bear a Phuket Brand logo symbolising them as being a top quality product of the province.

"The idea is to help push for higher prices" Of course this is the only reason.

I am sorry to note that one of the objectives of this scheme is reported to be "to help push for higher prices"

That should have been written as "to push for fair prices which offer value for money"

​I will not be frequenting any business displayed this "we can print money" Logo .

Sunshine, beaches, 5* hotels at 2* rates, knock off goods, cheep booze, sex and sightseeing are why tourist flock here.
