RICHMOND, VIRGINIA -- A policeman has died after being shot by a gunman at a bus station in Richmond, Virginia.

The suspect also died after a shoot-out, which happened during a police training exercise at the bus station.

One witness inside said: “I had my hand on the door handle when I heard two gunshots go off.

“I didn’t think they were gunshots, but then there were like five, maybe 10 more after that.

“And I could see the muzzle flash through the tinted door. And so I ran out of there.”

Two passersby were also injured and taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The problem here is the criminal justice system. This perp should have been in prison. He had a rap sheet a mile long and a lot of it violent.

It was completely illegal for him to possess a gun or even to live in a home where there was a gun due to his criminal record. No new laws would have stopped him. Criminals don't obey laws.

He had made his hatred of police clear via the social media.

If someone decides to walk up to you and shoot you there is little you can do to defend against it.

Two other police officers immediately shot and killed the perp.

RIP. It sounds like he was an exceptionally good officer.

Restricting firearms and reducing the amount of them floating about can only improve the situation......worked in Australia.

Less about = price up and harder to obtain.

Can't argue with the basic laws of economics.

The wheels already been invented, rocket science it ain't duh ! ;)

Oooops! Sorry your first premise is not correct, its just that now there're more illegal firearms about....legal firearms have never been a problem in Oz, Check the stats!

Economics tells us that there isn't a supply problem of legal firearms in Oz!

The "emergency" laws were prewritten to correct a situation that was created by the government of the day! Led by a psychotic Sydney solicitor!!

You are reading online jibber jabber written by people with an agenda.

I acknowledge there is an issue with illegal weapons in Australia and law enforcement deal with this issue every day BUT

The facts speak for themselves, no massacres since port Arthur which is a million times better than the bloodbath the pro gunners and mentally ill NRA followers are running in the states.

Your silly websites and conspiracy read RUBBISH won't confuse an old hand that knows better.
