Your Lottery Pick and Why?

Let's suppose the lottery draw is 3 numbers to win.

Which do you think is a better choice and why? (The letters represent numbers, obviously):

XYZ = You pay 1000 baht

OR

XYZ = You pay 500 baht

QRT = You pay 500 baht

(So you spend 1000 baht per draw on tickets).

Put down the beer and have a think about it.

I would go the second option and double my chances.

However I am never right, so the first option.

Option 1, you buy 1 chance in N million to win something.

Option 2, you buy 2 chances in N million to win something, (albeit possibly less of a prize?)

So second option would be better.
