whooliggen
High... I used to login to my router via: 192.168.1.2 (as the standard 192.168.1.1 didn't give me the controls I needed), but at the moment I can't login and get the "The Connection was reset" page... Any ideas???

Petch01
the standard 192.168.1.1 didn't give me the controls I needed What do you mean with that? Are you looking for advanced settings such as port forwarding etc, for your Dare Global DB120 Modem/router? Try this one: http://192.168.1.1/html/index1.html Petch01
Richard-BKK
It is true that most routers use 192.168.1.1 you told me that your router did before used IP 192.168.1.2 to login. Early routers from Repotec (http://www.repotec.com) did that also. The router in the picture is one of the first routers offert with ToT connections. Early models had Syslink on it but after a court order from Linksys..They where sold/give away without brandname markings. Can you tell me a about time you got the router from ToT...then I maybe able to look it up what you have.
whooliggen
Thats the story! I apologise for my pitiful "web-talk" knowledge, but thank you both very much for your help. Regards, W.
pedalsong
Petch01 points to http://192.168.1.1/html/index1.html for accessing the router to change port forwarding and other "advanced" options. I've found that just going to 192.168.1.1 loads a different index page: http://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/webcm This page does not offer links to port forwarding options. My best guess is that the router firmware was updated and the old index page was overridden but not removed. Whatever it is, using Petch01's link will get you where you need to go with a TOT router. Big Guy
Go to your command prompt page and type in ipconfig and enter and it will give you the adress the router is giving to the computer, this changes so don't expect it to be the same all the time.
