Deported migrants call for freedom from behind barred windows

Some 325 migrants have been deported to Turkey from the Greek island of Lesbos under an EU deal.

They wait to learn of their fate inside a fenced reception and removal centre in the town of Pehlivankoy. The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) says it has yet to gain access to the facility.

Migrants from Pakistan, Egypt, Afghanistan and Iraq call for freedom from behind the facility’s barred windows.

They were deported from Lesbos on Friday (April 8) under the controversial EU-Turkey deal to stem mass irregular migration to Europe.

Turkey has agreed to take back migrants who reached Greece after March 20. For every Syrian returned, Europe agreed to take one Syrian refugee from Turkey to be settled in an EU member state.

The UN refugee agency has condemned the deal and rights advocates say it may violate international law.

And how does Merkel feel about this?

If they had been deported to PNG they would be grateful for the bars.

1st sensible idea ive heard on the matter. They can't whinge about the cold weather, and i'd love to see them try one of those taharush mass rape thingies over in PNG. The immigrants would end up with a but like a wizards sleeve.

And how does Merkel feel about this?

A lot of us are starting to wonder if Merkel is even alive. Haven't heard a comment from her since the Brussels fiasco that her policies helped engineer.

Alive and kicking. Just this week she rebuffed some criticism by French PM Valls for her unilateral refugee policy, saying it would only serve to strengthen her resolve.

Nothing wrong here. Turkey has every right to detain the migrants until they are either

deported to there countries of origin or if they have claimed for refugee status in

Turkey until their claims can be reviewed. coffee1.gif

Cry all you want, just go back.

No one wants these people. As we see what's going on they don't integrate well into western countries. We in the USA say we do it better than the EU but these people are loathed everywhere. In the USA we have our own poor and homeless that should be first for any assistance, not some refugees who have ZERO to offer.

Turkey has every right to detain these illegals until their true status can be determined.
