Casanundra
At least now I won't have to breath in the lovely aroma of someone who had Som Tam for lunch because they will be down on the 10 baht bus instead.... All we now need to do is to find a way to get the smelly arm pit brigade off the BTS and we are rocking!

cclub75
BANGKOK: -- The Bangkok sky train service will raise its minimum fare from Bt10 to Bt15 next month, it announced Wednesday. 50 % increase... Respect ! This is what happen when the "I'm sitting on the inflation coffer" policy comes to an end... All of a sudden, prices explode. The previous government was a happy supporter of this kind of policy, through various prices controls and other sanook subsidiary schemes... In the west, they are much more smarter : they increase a little bit, every year. It's the "frog in the hot water" syndrome. Increase the temperature slowly, the frog will be fooled and will stay in the water... An extatic smile on its face...

taxexile
more importantly , when are they going to add another carriage to the paltry three they use now. that system has become increasingly unpleasant to use because of the overcrowding and lack of passengers manners when getting on and off. another carriage would ease the overcrowding and make a price increase more palatable. Jai Dee
Bangkok Governor said BMA did not take part in raising the ticket price of BTS Mr. Apirak Kosayodhin, the Bangkok Governor, affirmed that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) did not make any decision to raise the price of BTS ticket. However, he could not confirm whether the fare for the Silom line extension will still be 10 baht throughout or not. Silom line extension will stretch from Taksin Bridge Station over the Chao Phraya River to Taksin Road for 2.2 km, and it is expected to operate next year. The Bangkok Governor mentioned about the increase of BTS ticket fare, saying that everything was decided according to the plan of the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS). He added that the BMA was not involved in this price adjustment because the BTS is the concessionaire of the project. However, the BMA used to ask for the BTS to postpone its decision to lift up its ticket price, but many present factors are influencing the price to move up. Nevertheless, the BMA will coordinate with the BTS in arranging special promotions for students and the elderly passengers. Do you really think that people will not take it because of a paltry 5 bht increase?
