TAT launched spectacular Songkran parade over the weekend

BANGKOK, 11 April 2016 (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched spectacular a Songkran parade over the weekend to encourage people to conserve water and enjoy the occasion in a traditional way.

The parade displayed a variety of regional Songkran traditions that took root during the country's three major historical periods. Spectators enjoyed the reenactments of ancient Songkran ceremonies that were once observed in the North, the Northeast, the Central Plains, the South and the East of Thailand.

The government and the TAT urged all Thais to return to their roots by visiting a temple, making merit and splashing a only moderate amount of water onto other revelers. The general public is encouraged to wear proper clothing during the water festival.

No picture? Didn't happen.

The spectacular and traditional way to hold this parade is to feature madame TAT as Eva, however the general public is urged to wear the appropriate attire.
