DPM Wissanu disagrees with EC plan to draw up a summary on pros and cons of new draft charter for distribution to public

BANGKOK, 15 April 2016 (NNT) - A deputy prime minister is disagreeing with a plan by the Election Commission to prepare a summary on pros and cons of the new draft Constitution for distribution to the public.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam has denied that the EC was preparing such a summary, and that the Constitution Drafting Commission would not take any action according to this suggestion.

Mr. Wissanu stated that the critical review of the draft charter should be left to the people to do so on their own, without any influence from related groups.

He added that the CDC would still be offering explanations about the draft Constitution, as suggested by the law on the public referendum.

For the questions to be asked at the public referendum, Mr. Wissanu said that the National Legislative Assembly will be responsible for offering any explanation.

Dunno, it sound like a good idea, just use enough of these fellas to illustrate:

Mr. Wissanu stated that the critical review of the draft charter should be left to the people to do so on their own, without any influence from related groups.

And be sure to continue to suppress groups wanting to identify issues with the charter as that could result in a better public understanding of the proposed charter....wouldn't want that.

Ok to list the pros, but a very big No No to list the Cons.

"A Deputy Prime Minister" For christ sakes, how many are there?

without any influence from related groups

Shouldn't then each of the Five Rivers be excluded? They are about as related as any group can be on developing the draft charter.

Good grief, I actually agree with the DPM that the Election Commission has no business creating a pro/con document. That is outside of their remit.

Nor does the CDC have any business creating a summary, as they have a clear conflict of interest. The Thai Press should be encouraged to create fair summaries.

I believe there are 5. Wikipedia has a list.
