Eastern & Oriental Train Journey

We're considering travelling on the E & O train.

After looking at website we think a Stateroom is our preference.

Has anyone been on this train and if so feedback would be appreciated.

For other options there was a nice little bucket list of train trips on CNN awhile ago that seemed quite interesting. Google CNN luxurious train journeys.

I have done the trip twice. BKK to Sing and Sing to BKK. Beautiful train, excellent food and not to expensive drinks. The sleeping compartments are okay but I can only comment on the cheapest one. Bunk beds but the ensuite shower room is fine.

The only thing that is not good is the ride as you get thrown around a bit but plenty of alcohol softens the blow
