CGW
What’s with the statistics here in Thailand, we are told that this year’s death toll on the roads is a new “record", I have been here some years and remember the toll being higher in the past, until Taksin got involved and told “them” to reduce numbers!!! a quick search shows:- Road accident casualties in Thailand during New Year holidays Number of casualties Year 2001, 2002, 2003, Fatalities 454 (2001), 585 (2002), 606 (2003). Injuries 23,786 (2001), 34,303 (2002), 35,286. (2003) Source: Injury and Alcohol Related Problems Prevention and Control Section Think they change the method of reporting to suit themselves? lonewolf99
Fudge. Cover up. Make up. Lies, damned lies then statistics. Conservative with the truth. White lies.... These are all available methods when it comes to ministerial positions, in any country. I cannot think for the life of me that there is a central contact number that has to be called to report the latest death. Some rural small hospital in Nackon Nowhere is not going to bother reporting Somchai and Leks latest tumble on their scooter whether it is a grazed knee to even a broken neck. Surely ? I mean how else can we feel superior having never amounted to much in our life.. if we can't look down on the locals who can we look down on. Your shattering our illusion we are perfect.. but only because we can look down on others. Please don't take the only pride we have away from us. We are just below average in our home country.. but here we can pretend to be better. But we need to put all Thais down.. and regularly... otherwise we don't believe the lie anymore. So please refrain from using logic.

stoneyboy
Your looking for truths in the land if lies. Christ lying is a national pastime. And your facts to back this up are!!!!!!!@!@@@ Thais will often lie to family or friends to save face. People will lie to you all day long,a classic example is a taxi driver telling you they know where you want to go when they simply do not. There are thousands of examples in Thai culture where telling a lie is simply easier than not telling the truth or making ones self look a fool. Anyone who has lived in Thailand for a period of time knows it.

Thailand is no exception. The search for an honest country is-on-all-fours with Diogenes search for an honest man. Give it up, bro.
