Extending a student visa tomorrow

Featured Replies

I should have posted earlier. I am extending an Ed Visa tomorrow at CM Immigration, first time. My school advised me to be there latest 5 AM to collect a number for service. Is it really necessary to get there so early? I hope not!

You could probably get there as late as 6:30 on a 'good day,' but then be prepared to spend the entire day there if you do...

If you want some peace of mind that the extension will be sorted and done tomorrow go early at 05:00ish. You could go at 6 or 7 but if you are unlucky you may be so far back in the queue that when you get to the front they have given out all spaces for the day? It's hard say. The office has been closed over songkran so may be busier than usual.

Extended mine two weeks ago, I got there at 9am, was given a number and told to come back at 1:30pm (which I did). Served at 2pm, got passport back at 3. Note this is Airport Immigration, you don't do an ED visa extension at Promenda.

To report back on my experience, I arrived at 5:40 AM and there were 40+ people there before me. Between 5:40 AM and 7:00 AM almost no one else showed up. I would have been better off arriving at 7:00 AM.

I got out of there around 10:30 AM.
