FT surcharge cut for the months of May-August by 7.68 percent



BANGKOK: -- The Energy Regulatory Committee Wednesday announced the reduction of FT (fuel charge tariff) surcharge for the months of May-August by 28.46 satang per unit.

The FT reduction will bring the electricity charge for all consumers to an average of 3.4227 baht per unit or a reduction of 7.68 percent, said Mr Veeraphol Chirapraditkul, spokesman of the regulatory committee.

The FT downward adjustment for the months of May-August reflect the reduction in fuel costs, especially natural gas, used by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand to generate electricity.

That looks helpful. My bill in April was only ฿800 higher than in March, although we ran the air conditioners more.
