Pattaya woman survives sixth-floor plunge onto Volkswagen
In the early hours of Sunday morning a dramatic incident in Soi Bong Kot, Pattaya, left bystanders stunned as a young woman fell six storeys from a condominium building. Rescue teams responded to the emergency at 4.36am, on November 10, only to find a large crowd already gathered around the scene of the shocking accident. The victim, identified as 21 year old Cambodian national Savry Pich, landed on the roof of a classic blue Volkswagen van after her fall, suffering critical injuries. The impact dented the van’s roof, which appeared to have cushioned her fall slightly, potentially saving her life. Rescue workers provided first aid on-site before rushing her to a local hospital. According to friends, Pich had been drinking in the apartment with them before they eventually parted ways for the night. While the reasons for her apparent jump remain unclear, her friends revealed a troubling detail: she had reportedly attempted to jump from the 14th floor previously but was stopped in time. This earlier attempt, paired with the recent incident, raises serious questions about her well-being, with one friend remarking, “We didn’t think she’d try it again.” Pattaya police documented the scene, with Police Colonel Navin Thirawit informed of the incident. Police have also launched a full investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the building to gain insight into the circumstances that led to the fall. While the investigation unfolds, the incident has sparked concern among residents about building safety measures, especially in popular tourist areas, reported Pattaya Mail.
