Phantom57
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had contact details for a company making these Thai concrete water tanks (ongs). I have a friend in Australia who would like to import a few containers of them for his business. Bangkok area would be best as they will be exported. Thanks. Crossy
Can't help with contacts I'm afraid, but they are made all over the country. BUT These things are large, (very) heavy and relatively fragile. It may be better to import the moulds and actually make them in Oz.
Phantom57
Thanks Crossy, maybe an idea. He already has containers being exported from BKK to Aus and it would be easy to add the tanks to them. Weight is not a problem, he assures me. Crossy
We moved one from mum-in-law's place to use as a water feature, it got broken on the ride in the back of a pickup The shell is about 1/2" thick at the top with no steel, there is (some) steel at the bottom but it didn't take much of a knock to shatter the beast. Actually, I have no idea how they are made, the outside is evidently moulded but how about internal formwork?
