PHUKET: -- Police have announced the arrests of 14 suspects found in possession of drugs and at least one handgun as part of their on-going anti-drug and -crime campaign in Phuket.

In total, police seized more than 260g of crystal meth (ya ice), little over 45g of marijuana as well as one car and an illegal handgun from April 16 to 23, Pol Maj Sitthichai Chumchuay of the Phuket Provincial Police announced yesterday (Apr 24).

The arrests and contraband seized were results of raids carried out by Phuket Narcotics Suppression officers, led by Maj Sitthichai.

Top billing on the arrests was that of 34-year-old Worawit Chosiri, who was found in possession of 143.98g of ya ice. In making the arrest, police seized a Honda car valued at more than B300,000, Maj Sitthichai said.
