Costa Concordia captain appeal begins

FLORENCE: - The appeals trial is to begin in Italy of the captain held responsible for the 2012 Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster in which 32 people were killed.

Francesco Schettino was given 16 years in jail, after he was guilty of manslaughter, causing a maritime accident and abandoning ship.

At the trial in Florence, he is seeking to overturn the conviction, while the prosecution seeks a longer prison term.

Looking at the pics of what he has created ...I believe he should man up and do the right thing.

Bring some professionalism back to the table or if he feels truly innocent , by all means fight for this but looks like a Long shot unless something was not presented in earlier reports

All the evidence to date combined with all the witness statements allege he is was negligent, incompetent, a coward and needs a lengthy prison sentence.

Not my opinion.
