Yes there are big queues overall, but J counter (the tourist visa extension counter) is always light. They process about 160-200 passports per day. And it's moving quickly.

    Seeing as tomorrow and Monday are holidays granted by the government you should be ok to rock up to Chaeng Wattana on Tuesday and not be made to pay a fine. I am sure others will say the same.

    As long as you go on first day after weekend/holidays you are OK. But it is likely to be very crowded so might be better to just depart if you have other things you could be doing.
