Hundreds of families in Northeast affected by tropical storm

BANGKOK, 6 May 2016 (NNT)-The Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King has distributed daily necessities to Chaiyaphum residents after a tropical storm made landfall in the northeastern region of Thailand last month.

Relief items have been distributed to storm victims in Nong Bua Rawae district since the beginning of April. More than 2,500 homes in Chaiyaphum have been damaged by the storm.

In Beungkan Province, hardware stores have reportedly run out of construction materials for home repairs. Municipal officials have also been deployed to help expedite the restoration process.

In Si Sa Ket, relief bags have been given to 250 storm stricken families by Luang Pu Suang Foundation. Residents in five districts have been struggling to return to normal life after their homes were destroyed by the storm.
