SAMUT PRAKAN:-- A mother took her two young children to Samut Prakan police Sunday to report an alleged series of rapes by their 12 year old cousin.

The mother named only as "Som", 38, a quality control officer in a soap factory in Bang Pu, told police that the boy, "Man" a grade six student in primary school, had gone to her five and eight year old daughters' bedroom and put on adult movies.

Man is the child of her ex husband's elder sister, reports Daily News.

He had then invited the little girls to do like in the movies. This had happened around ten times over a period of a year, she said. Her ex husband's mother who heard about the plan to tell police had earlier threatened her with trouble if she did.

Som told the investigating officer as her children looked on that she had gone to live at her husband's house in downtown Samut Prakarn after the birth of their first child in 2008. By 2013 she had finished with her husband but continued to live in his house as she had nowhere to go.

She eventually moved in May 2015 because her daughters were unhappy and not playful as they had been before. She asked them what was wrong and, she alleged, they later told her that Man had come into their bedroom about ten times over a year and put on sex movies while she was out at work.He had told them to do like in the movies and he had raped them, she claimed.

She told police further that on discovering this she called her ex and it was agreed she should report the matter. But when her ex husband's mother heard about this she threatened her with counter claims if she dared to report the matter.

After some time she decided that she must report the matter.

Police have arranged for the two sisters to be checked at a hospital and are in contact with child welfare and other authorities as further evidence is gather ahead of calling in the twelve year old for questioning.

What a shame for those 2/little girls. I just don't know what I would do if this had happened to my 2/girls. Going to the police would probably be last on my list. But when, who do you punish? The parents for making porn accessible to their child? Or the child for using that to convince those little girls to re enact what they were seeing?

This is not the fault of "porn" or how easy it may be available!

This is a problem of Thai- society: kids are left alone, with no parental supervison, boys are allowed to do, whatever they please, sex- ed is a no-no in school...but everywhere you turn, you hear about how fantastic Thai- family values are and how they look out for each other!

If something like this would happen elsewhere (and yes...we know...it doesn't happen only in Thailand- so spare me...), social services would be all over the parents of both the boy (how did he get access to porn- videos?) and the girls (why are they left alone with another minor, without anyone giving a sh1t?

But TIT, everything is soooo much better here, than in the nanny-states at home!

I don't think this situation got a good solution. First of all it's a normal thing that childeren sometimes expierence in sex. Many play 'doctor' or other to find things out.

Is it something we should agree with as parents ? Well if the daughters say they feel no good with it, the parents must react. But put a child on a policeinvestigation and in the newspaper will maybe bring more damage than good. It's clear she use the boy to hit her ex-husband, or you think she want to get the boy in prison ? This should be corrected in a good parent way, not this way.

I didn't finish reading that report as it sounds fishie to me..It sounds like family feud really.If I were the police officer in charge I would have charged her gor abandoning a 4&7 year old child for the period of a year on a daily basis. 12 years old! I think some are overlooking this fact.

From a reasonably early age, and certainly when I was 12 my father was often/always away for extended periods and my mother worked full time 6 days per week. They did what they had to do. My mum and dad were granted a 'War Service' Home Loan on the proviso my mother got a full time job!

There were no problems. We made it through. As did many of us in those days.

So what has changed?

I would not leave an underage child (boy or girl) without female supervision...it is simply not safe here...who knows which male will lose his marbles and force himself on a child...why take a chance?

how often do we see things happens to kids left in other families care while the parents work etc, people have to be honest and admit that some family members dont really give a sh*t about what is happening with the kids. This was obviously in the grandparents house as that was where she was living at the time which means the grandmother was the one responsible for all 3 kids(all her grand children), again she was not watching out for them so she is directly responsible for this happening. Who owned the porn and how was it put on in the girls bedrooms, the boys parents also have questions to answer as without them turning a blind eye he could not have had access to the porn or even know about sex. There is a big difference between having close families and then having family members that are actually trustworthy and actually care about what happens to their family members, I know my wife grew up with her grandmother and suffered a lot at her hands then when her mum finally decided to take her back with the new boyfriend things got even worse. Parental responsibility is sadly lacking in Thailand, you only have to see all the murders, rapes, bashings etc being done by "kids" or young men/women to realize this, any sort of responsibility is simply shunned by many in all aspects of their lives.

These kids were not sexually mature and so they were only imitating sexual acts, not actually engaging in sex.

A 12 year old can be in the early stages of adolescent and could be a danger if exposed to porn. Usually parental conditioning and social norms prevent youngsters from actually carrying the situation this far.

This is far outside the normal bounds of childhood experimentation. I hope this boy and the girls get the help they need.
