May 10, 201610 yr You should head into any pharmacy with the class of drug and dosage: for example the 2 mentioned are a calcium channel blocker and an ARB. There are many alternatives and a good pharmacist will know which drugs are comparable here in Thailand. I take an ARB losartan which is a generic of Cozaar and is widely available here.

May 11, 201610 yr I think beta blocker Atenolol, brand name Prenolol is the most common blood pressure medicine prescribed by the doctors in Thai gov hospitals. It's very cheap. You need to ask a doc if it's right for you. I am taking Propranolol which is more expensive. I switched to Prenolol for 10 days, my bp went up 5 points so I switched back .

May 12, 201610 yr What about Anapril (made by Berlin).? Prescribed by some Bangkok doctors for hypertension... Entirely different class of drugs than what OP is on. The meds he takes have local brands.
May 12, 201610 yr I take amlopine here which is a calcium channel blocker. It seems to be extremely common and cheap. I buy the size 10 and split each tablet in half (the tablets are designed for this, with a scored line across them).
May 12, 201610 yr I take Madiplot. Cheryl, how good is the Kerdica 20?..... Same thing generically. Both are Manidipine. Kerdica 20 is made by MacroPhar, a local Thai pharm company. I have no information about its quality.
