BANGKOK, 12 May 2016 (NNT) - Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) director general Chatchai Promlert disclosed that forest fires broke out in three provinces, namely Narathiwat, Chumporn and Chiang Mai.

The DDPM and other government units extinguished the forest fires while the provincial public health offices distributed masks and provide advice on health care to the haze-affected people.

Moreover, the DDPM has instructed its officials to regularly monitor the spots where the forest fires have been put under control to prevent repeated incidents.
