angryfarang
I've been meaning to post this for a while now. I pulled my beloved Hornet apart over 5 years now intending to rebuild it in my spare time. Unfortunately as work got busier I had less spare time to work on it, so the frame, engine and parts sat under my house for 2 years. I was lucky enough to bump in to an ex-racing mechanic here on Samui who had just started a company here called Khamsam Motorcycles. Link here: https://www.facebook.com/khamsam.motorcycles/?fref=ts They rebuilt my entire bike with perfect attention to detail. I'm extremely happy with it. angryfarang
Then the experts got on it..... We had to bore out the cylinder and fitter slightly over-sized pistons (which were incredibly hard to find)
angryfarang
And this is the finished product....

johng
Looks very nice indeed how much did the restoration cost ? quite a lot I would imagine.
taninthai
wow what a beauty ,was wondering were you have been with this over the years, where did they get the seat cover i only see these available from germany...
angryfarang
I spent hundreds of thousands on restoring the bike. It's a rare bike (especially with a legit green book) and I'd never sell it. The seat cover I got from E-Bay. I think it actually came from Latvia.
thaiguzzi
Looks like the shop does quality work and paint and finishing.
BaldPlumber
I had one of those a few years ago. Flew to Scotland to pick it up and rode it back to Hertfordshire. Cracking little bikes.
angryfarang
I love it, the whirl of the cam drive gear sounds great and it screams at 16,000rpm!...
MartinL
Not about the bike but about the stand - Is that your Abba stand? I had one of those in UK for years and used it on many different bikes. They're so bloody useful & easy to use!!! However, they're expensive to have sent out to Thailand. Did you buy it here - if so, where? - or in UK (or elsewhere) and bring it over. EDIT - just seen there's a distributor in Samui so maybe there's a Thai dealer network too. Worth looking into.
angryfarang
That stand belongs to the guy who rebuilt my bike, his company is an official dealer here in Thailand for Abba. He stocks all different types of stand including the sky lift stand. His website is here. http://khamsam.com
Familyonthemove
That is a beauty. Looks like they did a thorough job. A 250 - 4 cylinder, bet that sounds interesting, must rev like crazy?

Happy Grumpy
That is a beauty. Looks like they did a thorough job. A 250 - 4 cylinder, bet that sounds interesting, must rev like crazy? The CBR250 used to redline at 19,000rpm.
Happy Grumpy
I've been considering doing this on a CBR400 here. Unfortunately I don't have enough trustful local contacts that I could trust to do any work.
taninthai
My 1999, 600cc Hornet - custom sprayed by "Dream Machine"... wasp1.jpg wasp2.jpg unfortunately yours is just a copy of the original eddie jordan hornets that came direct from honda when you bought the honda civic in matching colours my 1999 eddie jordan hornet number 17 out of 50 produced ,was oveffered with 500 matching honda civic cars my mate has the the civic numbered 17 to match my bike, these were done to celebrate damon hill matching the f1 car livery off that year....i too can't bring myself to sell mine although it could do with a restoration too. its also a bit more modded now
Happy Grumpy
^ Haha Brings back some memories. I met Damon at Mondelo park around 98/99 and got my Jordan pitcrew jacked signed. Back when F1 was still good.
papa al
Love the monochrome color scheme, with the red wheel-stripes and plug wires.
In the jungle
Cool bike. Where did the instruments come from? And is that a gear position indicator and shift light on the right?
angryfarang
The digital clocks were quite hard to find and expensive as I needed the version with rpm up to 18k. The model is the Koso RX2N+ http://www.koso.com.tw/products-detail.php?id=18 I think they cost me around 15,000 baht including postage and import duty/tax. Dutchbike
Agree with other posters: beautiful bike and well executed project, modernising it without going over the top, love the colours. A piece of history since I'll never see any manufacturer will produce 250 4inline bikes anymore. I believe the only "small" 4inline still made new is the Honda 400 super four for the Japanese market. angryfarang
The CB400 is another great bike, especially the V-TEC version, a lot of fun. If I ever saw a CB400 Revo Edition (fuel injected) I'd snap one up and restore it, but incredibly rare - well to find one with a proper green book... angryfarang
Thanks. I'm really enjoying riding it, however thinking of putting a bigger silencer on as it's a bit too loud for me. I must be getting old....
