BANGKOK, 16 May 2016 (NNT) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said 2016 has been a successful year for Thai athletes who have won gold medals and awards from international competitions.

In his weekly TV broadcast program, the premier said the Thai athletes have won many international competitions, including badminton, and a Thai shooter who won the first World Cup Shooting gold medal, as well as a Thai weightlifter who also achieved success.

He sent his support and congratulations to all athletes and students who, through their efforts, have brought acclaim to Thailand and wished them success in their quests for victory and educational pursuits.

Since a new school year is approaching, he said he would like to ask all students to focus on their studies and national education reform which is now in its first phase. He said those who are both being a student and athlete need to train and study hard.

He said that the government’s plan to reduce classroom time has been well-received by both students and teachers because, he said, the students need to find out what they want to be and focus on achieving the goal.

Well, yes...

Yes, it's nice to see people in Thailand working hard and being rewarded for it.

All too often you see people with lots of medals who've done nothing. in fact, they've been counterproductive.

He said those who are both being a student and athlete need to train and study hard. They can fly from grade to grade, because Thais don't fail at school.

Well, yes...

Then he probably took them to his medal room to show them and brag about all the medals he has won. One day if you work hard you can stage a coup and have a room just like this one.

Meanwhile in North Korea

The shooting competitions should be a breeze for them, they have lots of practice in the street of Thailand
