Not daft, and you miss the point that Coutinhio is far more important to 'Pool and he should be getting more credit than the likes of 'flashy' Hazard, he cost far less and I would liken him to Scholes.

Scholes was according to Fergie one of the most important Utd players of all time. Time will tell whether Hazard proves his worth like Coutinhio.

don't agree with that at all. coutinho's been inconsistent this season - his highs have been brilliant but there haven't been enough of them - while hazard's been quite clearly chelsea's best player. coutinho's not even been in liverpool's top five 'most important' players this season.

Refreshing to see a nice senseible and honest reply .....good on you stevieH

Not in top five players? Where have you been? Coutinhio is key to success of Suarez, Sturridge et al. fact. At £8.5m a snip compared to Eden Hazard and even Ozil. He is the play maker Liverpool have searched for some while. Utd would eagerly buy him if they had the chance. And yes, agree with Oldgit, in that the meeting of Chelsea at Anfield towards the end of the season, will potentially be hugely important for both clubs. It could mean the keeping of Suarez or Chelsea losing the title.

Since coming back from that shoulder injury he has not been by his standards at his best, besides the odd bit of brilliance he has been poor in the last month or so.

He is fantastic player, no one is questioning that, but he is out of form. His fitness is not 100%, his fantastic final ball we saw a lot of last year and early this year has gone a miss and he should be scoring more (4.5% conversion of shots taken). He has also given the ball away cheaply on too often.

He is only young, but he is critical to our campaign this year and we need him back up to the level we know he can produce.

A talking fish is...ref. Oldgit English Phrasebook.... "someone who opens his mouth and talks endlessly, most of it of no interest to anybody".

Oh i get it....you're having a pop at the Arsenal thread!!biggrin.png

You are confusing quality (The Arsenal thread) with quantity (the tiny totts thread).

And let's face it, most of the <deleted> on The Arsenal thread is usually after Arsenal drop points, and comes from sad tiny totts fans hoping for once that they might outdo Wenger.

I used to like Mourinho but this time round he's getting a bit tiresome. The way he is slagging off other managers at the moment is pretty disrespectful. In particular, the comments he made about Wenger being a specialist at losing was uncalled for.

I do wish other managers could ignore him, but even the most even tempered of them can't seem to let him twist himself in the wind. "Tiresome" is certainly an apt description MrB...among many other adjectives.

As you know jelly, I was one of those who wanted Mourinho at City before we got Pellegrini. I like characters and think it's great for the game but now he's simply going OTT and the journo's love him cos he gives them something to fill up their columns with.

I wouldn't worry about it - I'll guarantee you Wenger doesn't.

CFC fans disrespecting silence for the late Sir Tom Finney then...."fighting amongst themselves, fighting stewards, the police, one making monkey gestures towards black steward .." and one final thought....it's a good job Chelsea rhymes with Chelsea init, or they'd have no songs.

Classy as ever!coffee1.gif

I know I'm on a losing battle here with the amount of dislike for Jose, but what he said is true. Arsenal have had chances to win trophies and been close only to bottle it. It is also worth pointing out that Arsene criticised Mourinho before that comment was made.

Another Jose quote, after yesterday's game,

"City played much better than us and deserved to win.

"Football is in peace when the best team wins. Two weeks ago the best team won and today the best team won.

"Give credit to my players because today proved that to win twice against City and to win here is very difficult to do. Credit for what my team did two weeks ago. Today the situation was simple. It's simple to analyse. They were the best team and they won."

Not many managers give that kind of praise to another team after they lose.

I suppose that's the two extremes of Jose. The complimenting part is the side that I have always liked about him and I have always liked his controversy. I just think the digs at other managers should be cut out. He's been goading Pellegrini for weeks now.

I see Mourinho went off on one at the press again after the game. Developing a bit of a chip on his shoulder or what?

Did he?

Yes, he did. Apparently he's "always the bad guy".

Mourinho is not a stupid guy. He ought to study up a bit on "self fulfilling prophecy".wink.png
